February 1st – 28th: Mississippi Freedom Summer Exhibit

Date: Wednesday, February 1st – Tuesday, February 28th

In celebration of Black History Month, Oren Dunn City Museum is hosting this picture display of the events that led up to the memorable & violent Mississippi summer. “Stand Up!” Mississippi Freedom Summer of 1964 is produced by the Mississippi Department of Archives & History.

Price: Adults $10 • Children 12 and under: $5 • AAA Members, Military, and Senior Citizens: $9

 

This poplar exhibit at the Tupelo Automobile Museum will feature custom street rods and hot rods. Come see these amazing examples of souped-up and powerful automotive classics.

 

February 16th – 18th: Love Letters

Date: Thursday, February 16th – Saturday, February 18th

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Tupelo Community Theatre Off Broadway // 201 N Broadway St. • Tupelo, MS 38804

Price: $20

 

A unique and imaginative theatre piece which, in the words of the author, “needs no theatre, no lengthy rehearsal, no special set, no memorization of lines, and no commitment from its two actors beyond the night of performance.” The piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences.

 

February 17th – 18th: Carlock Ram’s Northeast Mississippi Championship Rodeo

Date: Friday, February 17th – Saturday, February 18th

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Price: $30, $20 and $14. All prices go up $3 day of show.

 

 

February 18th: The Mystic Krewe of Barkus

Date: Saturday, February 18th

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Tupelo Bark Park // 99 N. Veterans Blvd. • Tupelo, MS 38804

Price: Free // Donations accepted

 

Bring your favorite furry friend and join the celebration of the Mystic Krewe of Barkus Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tupelo Bark Park. Enjoy crawfish from Southern Bugz, music, games, giveaways, and much more!

While at the event, you can enter your furry friend in the Krewe of Barkus Mardi Gras most creative costume contest!

You can also join us in celebration of Fat Tuesday by dressing up in your most festive Mardi Gras attire, decorating a float or wagon for your pet, and joining us in the parade. Registration for the parade will take place day of the event from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the J.T. Neely building located in Verterans Park.

Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Tupelo Bark Park.
